>Let’s Enter Newness Today - Recently, I’ve realised I have another addiction – reading the three (print) newspapers we subscribe to. That leaves me with no time for books.
So this Lent, in addition to abstaining from the usual things that hijack my brain the rest of the year (i.e. pork and sweets in all their myriad delightful forms), I will for the first time attempt abstaining from reading the newspapers for the hour and half reading time I have every day.
Instead, I will read a book that my chaplain gave me *gulp* three years ago. The title? ‘The Encyclical Letter Veritas Splendor addressed by The Supreme Pontiff, Pope John Paul II to all the bishops of the Catholic Church regarding certain fundamental questions of The Church’s moral teaching’.
Sigh. Good luck, Kate. I mean, you will enter newness today, Kate!
Spring Season has began. Thank you lord!!
