why begin with Shrove Tuesday??.
ReplyDeleteMy son was encouraged by your homily this morning, where you inspired the congregation about Lent- which you said, should not only be about giving alms, but also about giving (Arms) to others by your time and service. He esp liked your recommendation on prayer life. n
Thanks for your comments about how your son found the words of scripture meaningful for him. I began with Shrove Tuesday only so as to indicate that joy and pain; the crown and the cross are two sides of the same reality. As Khalil Gibran says "Your joy is your sorrow unmasked...."
